Radio Alegria is much more than just a radio station in this market. It serves as a vital resource for Spanish speaking residents to news and information unavailable on television or print locally as well as a musical link to their roots in Mexico. Bryan, Texas is 1/3 Hispanic, 50% Spanish Dominant, and growing along with increasing Hispanic diversity at Texas A&M. The station has been a dominant ratings force since its launch in September 2001 including regularly ranking in the Top 3 in General Market ratings 18-54. Radio Alegria has several features known throughout the Brazos Valley including the daily “La Pulga” trade radio feature which is the single highest rated hour of radio in the entire market, drawing Hispanics and general market.

The station has been a finalist in Radio Ink’s “Medallas de Cortez” Hispanic Radio Awards as Station of The Year, Personality of The Year (“Sweet C” Morning Show), and Middayer Greg Rodriguez won “Personality of The Year” in 2008. Radio Alegria is also known for large community events like Dia Del Nino and Fiestas Patrias. Radio Alegria is again the ONLY local Spanish language broadcast (Radio or TV).
